This past week was tiring. I was very busy. I worked both of my jobs, went to school, watched 2 episodes of my online class, went to the Sharks game on Saturday nite, had a migraine on Sunday, which meant I did not do any form of studying or homework, and then back at work today.
I am starting to work on my scholarly paper for my writing class. I have 2 ideas and not sure which one to go with. I have decided to stray from my usual topic "Eating Disorders" because I feel that I have written that paper many times now. Even though it is something I know alot about and always want to learn more, I am going to go out of my comfort zone and do something different. My two thoughts are Childhood Obesity: is it genetic or do kids eat too much crap? or The Acai Berry: does it really do a body good? I am torn between the 2 so if you wish to voice your choice please feel free to do so.
My group in the writing class has to do a presentation. We have decided to do it on Prescription Drug Usage Among College Students. There are 5 people in the group: 1 nurse, 2 OT, 1 judicial studies, and me, the nutritionist. We wanted to do something that involved all of our majors, and we feel this does. I think this will be a very interesting topic because we are all in college and know the pressures are out there.
I have another midterm in 2 weeks for my online class, so I need to get to studying and watching more eopisodes. Luckily I am already comfortable with Nutrition. It is just a matter of studying and learning the information as opposed to just memorizing it. This is my field, what I want to do. I need to know it backwards and forewards.
Alright, back to studying and writing.
Until next time...

To DC and Back
For those of you who have never been to Washington DC, you need to go! It is such a beautiful city. The whole area is fabulous. And yes I skipped a day of school to go, but hey it is an educational and historical place.
We flew into Dulles Airport, arrived at around Midnight on Monday. Luckily we had a layover in Colorado so we grabbed some dinner there before the long leg of the flight. Because as anyone who flys knows, they no longer give you free meals on the flight. We stayed at the Sheraton in Herndon, near the Dulles airport. Nice hotel, nice people, comfy beds. No complaints here.

Here is my trip in a nutshell...

Tuesday I got to sleep in which felt great. Later that day we went to the new Air and Space Museum, the one where they filmed Transformers 2. Very cool place, lots planes. Then we drove into DC and drove around looking at the monuments and White House because by this time it was getting dark and things were all lit up. We ate dinner in a spanish tapas restaurant in Downtown Georgetown, which is a beautiful place.
Wednesday we went to the Potomac river. It was beautiful. Then we drove around looked at lots of nice big houses. We all know I enjoyed that. The houses out there, Unbelieveable. Beautiful brick, lovely patios. I loved it! Then we went and had dinner and drinks in Reston. We had California rolls in DC. They were different, yummy though. I prob had a few too many drinks that night. But you know, its vacation. That is what you do.
Thursday was our tourist day. We drove into DC, went by the Pentagon, then to Arlington. A lot of emotion at Arlington. Saw JFK's grave, that was pretty cool. And the tomb of the unknown soldier is very sad, and quiet. Then we went to the Smithsonian's: the Natural History, American History, Archives, where we saw the Constitution. We also went to the Washington Monument and the Capital Building. I did as much as I could. I know I missed lots of places, but by this time it was 4p, I had a headache because we hadn't eaten much that day, and I was ready to be back at the hotel. We grabbed dinner in Georgetown again then went back to the hotel where I slept fabulously.
Friday we were up at 7a east coast time, which is 4a here, had a long flight from Dulles to LAX then back to SJ. We got home, went and grabbed lunch then I went home and slept for 12 hours. Aah that felt soo nice.
It was a wonderful trip. I want to go back because I know I missed things to see. And I didn'e see Pres. Obama or Michelle.
Until next time...
